Introduction to Clickbank

In the first module we discussed the method we are going to use to make money off of World of Warcraft. We are going to promote WoW Guides, written by other authors, and get paid 50% profits for sending them traffic that buys their guide. Some of you may have been wondering after reading the first module, “What if the guide seller doesn’t pay me?”. Well to legitimize the affiliate sales (that is what we call it when you make a sale), we use a website called Clickbank.

Every major WoW Guide author has an account set up with Clickbank. Clickbank is like a broker of sorts. You can see their website HERE.

The way it works is this :

You set up an affiliate account with clickbank. Clickbank will give you a username. For this example we will use the username – Bob37.

Zygor has a special section of his website called his Affiliate page. (To get to Zygor’s website, click here.)

On this page he tells you the link to use in order to sell his guide. In this case, the link is :

zygorlink

So to make this our own affiliate link, we would change the XXXXXX to our username. Our new link would be : http://Bob37.wowzygor.hop.clickbank.net.

Don’t click the link, it’s not a real one. If you do click it however, you will see that it takes you to Zygor’s homepage and if you were to make a sale, the account Bob37 would get credit for affiliating the sale. wowzygor is Zygor’s clickbank product name for that specific guide.

Clickbank is used by thousands of affiliate marketer’s and is the most dependable system currently available. They make sure that you get paid your percentage every time, without exception. They track your sales using cookies for up to 60 days.

Clickbank pays you WEEKLY. You can choose either to get a check in the mail, or even to direct deposit your payments into your bank account. I use direct deposit and they drop my earnings in my account like clockwork every Tues-Wed. A week for Clickbank is Wed – Wed.
